Try a Class Before You Register

60-Minute Tryout Class

At Sally Studio Art Center, we take our commitment to each student very seriously. That’s why we ask new students to attend a tryout class before registering for our semester programs. This class allows our instructors to get to know each student personally, assess their skill level, and understand their artistic interests and goals.

It also gives students and their families the chance to experience our teaching style and learning environment firsthand. Over the years, we’ve found that this tryout process helps ensure every student is placed in the class that best supports their growth, confidence, and creativity from the very beginning.

What is the Tryout Class?

The tryout is a 60-minute guided group art class for your child, where they can explore materials and express themselves while we observe their interests, engagement, and current skill level. At the same time, parents attend an orientation with our principal, where we introduce our program structure, share what to expect from the learning journey, and answer any questions you may have.

This tryout helps us ensure each child is placed in the most suitable class and that families feel confident and well-informed before joining.

Who Needs to Do the Tryout?

  • Required for all new students enrolling in our full-year art programs.
  • Not required for students joining seasonal camps or short-term spring/summer programs

Tryout Fee: $25 (One-Time Only)

The $25 fee includes the student’s tryout class and the parent orientation session.

If you decide to register, you do not need to pay an additional new student registration fee—this one-time payment covers it. the most suitable class and that families feel confident and well-informed before joining.

What Happens After?

Following the tryout, we’ll provide a class recommendation and walk you through the next steps to enroll.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Sally Studio!
