About Us
Sally Studio is a creative home where passionate teachers, eager students, and supportive parents come together to celebrate the love of art. Guided by our unique teaching philosophy, we help each student unlock their imagination and reach their full creative potential.
Our small, welcoming classes provide personalized training in drawing and painting, blending the timeless traditions of the old masters with contemporary teaching methods. From beginners to advanced artists, we nurture growth, creativity, and confidence in every student.
More than a classroom, Sally Studio is a supportive art family where passion is nurtured, creativity flourishes, and every artistic journey is celebrated. Each year, we give back to the community by donating to the Metropolitan Association of Fine Art and awarding scholarships to outstanding students.
Our mission is to inspire creativity, foster artistic growth, and build a community where art is shared, supported, and celebrated. We are dedicated to guiding each student on their unique creative journey while enriching the broader art community through education, opportunity, and giving back.

Why do we require Tryout for new students?
At Sally Studio Art Center, we take our commitment to each student very seriously. That’s why we ask new students to attend a tryout class before registering for our semester programs. This class allows our instructors to get to know each student personally, assess their skill level, and understand their artistic interests and goals.
It also gives students and their families the chance to experience our teaching style and learning environment firsthand. Over the years, we’ve found that this tryout process helps ensure every student is placed in the class that best supports their growth, confidence, and creativity from the very beginning.
Do You Participate in Art Competitions?
Yes! Our school encourages students of all ages to participate in art competitions when their work meets the qualification standards. We regularly submit student artworks to national contests that recognize creativity and achievement.
For some competitions especially those for students aged 13 and older or high school level, entries must be submitted by the student with parent involvement. Our teachers will guide and support students through the submission process when applicable.
What age groups do you teach?
We welcome students starting at age 5. We offer classes for children in grades K–12, as well as adult programs open to learners of all ages.
Our classes are thoughtfully designed to meet a wide range of experience levels. Each age group follows a carefully structured curriculum that nurtures creativity, discipline, and confidence. This inclusive approach allows every student to find joy in the artistic process and to grow at their own pace within a supportive and inspiring community.
Do you offer any seasonal programs?
Yes! We offer exciting seasonal programs such as our Summer or Spring Intensive and Art Explorers programs. These programs focus on specific themes, materials, or techniques and typically run for 6–10 weeks. They provide a joyful space for students to experiment freely and gain hands-on experience beyond regular classes.
How will I keep track of student’s progress?
We provide regular updates through parent-teacher meetings and informal check-ins during the semester. Our instructors are always happy to discuss each child’s growth, goals, and creative achievements, helping families stay connected and confident in their child’s learning journey.
Testimonials
” My son Leo has been drawing with Sally for almost 9 years. He started when he was 5. My daughter Hannah started at the same age, and now it’s been 3 years already. Both my kids adore Sally and her studio. Sally sees the unique pictures in each kid’s mind and knows how to help the kids with the proper techniques to present them. I feel so lucky to have met Sally. My kids wouldn’t be where they are today without Sally’s help. She sees the shining pieces inside the kids that we the parents sometimes couldn’t see, and polishes them. If you are looking for an institute that teaches actual techniques, exposes kids to different art forms, and most importantly knows how to inspire kids and keeps their enthusiasm, Sally Studio is the right place to go to. “

” My daughter has been taking class in Sally Studio Art Center since 2016. She takes two classes every week. It is a little far between our home and the studio, about forty minutes of one-way drive. But the time spent is far worth it. Teachers in Sally Studio are passionate about their students and their love for art. They encourage students to fully use imagination, explore their own passion, and learn different art skills step by step. After years of training and exploring, my daughter clearly realizes art is where her biggest passion lays and decides to choose art as her major in college in future. At the same time, her training in art helps her to become a confident, disciplined girl. I really appreciate teachers in Sally Studio Art Center. Their work is timeless, and will be cherished for years. The gift of understanding and creativity will benefit my daughter for her lifetime. ”

” We have known Ms. Sally for many years, even before the art studio was established. I initially sent my son William to her for classes, and later my daughter Emma joined as well. Ms. Sally guided my children into the wonderful world of art with her passion, patience, and genuine kindness. She has a unique teaching style that not only imparts technical skills but also nurtures their imagination. She truly cares about her students’ preferences and adjusts her approach accordingly. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to her for helping my children grow in their artistic journey. We love and respect her deeply, not only as an exceptional teacher but also as a shining, inspiring person.”

” The joy of Sally Studio is that it is an environment designed to support serious art students in their growth toward their full potential. The teachers hold students to a high standard, with the
aim of enabling students to express their own artistic visions. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed the time that she has spent learning and creating at Sally Studio. She has grown tremendously! In our society, where students (and adults) are rarely given the opportunity for peaceful concentration and focus, Sally Studio is such a place.”

” My boys (now 9th and 11th grades) have been studying with Sally Studio since 2016. Sally’s passion in cultivating creativities has made a tremendous positive impact in our lives. The artistic foundation she helped built for my boys are something that they can apply in many ways. For example, Andrew decides to pursue photography and is always applying the principles of lights and perspective in his works (that helped him win multiple awards!). Bryan leverages his design skills when creating presentation and marketing materials for his robotics team, contributing to their success in three consecutive years. We are greatly appreciative of all the artistic skills they learned through Sally Studio. Most importantly, the friendship and support from Sally and her staff is exceptional. We are very proud to be part of the Sally Studio family! “

” My daughter Grace has been studying in Sally Studio for five years, and it is her all time favorite place. In Sally Studio Grace was not only encouraged to explore different art media, but was also guided and inspired to achieve art goals. Moreover, she learned to use art to express herself, and appreciated that her “voice” and interests were heard and understood by teachers and other students, which made her more confident and outgoing. Thanks to Sally, Grace falls in love with art, and knows a lot of friends who share the same interests. “

” My daughter, Elaine, has been studying art at Sally Studio since 2021, when she was just 11 years old. It’s been almost three years now, and Sally Studio has given Elaine so much. Sally, the teacher, has been incredibly patient and attentive, treating her students as her own children. When Elaine first started, she was only willing to draw what she was familiar with and good at, hesitating to challenge herself with things like sketching and oil painting, which she had never tried before. Sally guided her patiently, constantly communicating with me, and eventually, Elaine fell in love with expressing herself through various drawing tools and techniques. In February 2023, under Sally’s guidance, my daughter’s artwork earned a place in the top ten nationwide in the ‘Celebrating Art’ painting competition. During her time at Sally Studio, she not only achieved impressive results in competitions but also learned how to delve deeper into her passion for art. It’s about finding a deeper love for life through art and gaining greater self-confidence. Sally Studio has been instrumental in Elaine’s artistic journey, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the nurturing and inspiring environment it provides. “

” My son Lance has been studying art at Sally’s Studio for almost 10 years. Art has become an essential part of his life—it’s how he expresses his emotions and finds relaxation. Sally has played a key role in helping Lance discover his passion for art, offering personalized lesson plans and nurturing his creative growth.”
